The Village OK

in Oklahoma City

village-1 In the heart of north Oklahoma City lies The Village. The Village began in 1948-1949 as the returning war veterans needed housing. And that’s who the village homes were originally built for. By 1950, The Village became incorporated at a town, and by 1959, was large enough to incorporate as a full-fledged city.

The Village seems like just a large neighborhood, being just 2.5 square miles. There are 4,327 homes within The Village. Most of the homes were built in the 1950’s and 1960’s.

Homes in The Village range from 725 square feet to over 3,100 square feet. The average size is 1,243 square feet, and there are a lot home homes in that size range. Recent sales have ranged from $37,500 to $170,000 with the average being $107,500.

The prime location, affordable price, and classic styling have made The Village highly desirable. This has been particularly true for the Gen X’s and Gen Y’s. It’s a great first-home location. Homes in The Village sell quickly, averaging just 46 days over the last 2 years.
