Settler's Ridge


Located in the Oklahoma City limits between Yukon and Mustang, just 10 minutes West of downtown, Settler’s Ridge successfully blends a small town atmosphere with big city living.  This community provides easy access to the entire metroplex and is only minutes from shopping, dining and the Integris Canadian Valley Hospital.  Settler's Ridge is in the Yukon school district.

Settler's Ridge is located north of Reno on Cemetary Road (Garth Brooks Blvd) in southwest Yukon.

Rose Creek Neighborhood | Edmond OK 73012

RoseCreek-1 Rose Creek is a beautiful community just north of Quail Springs Mall on North May Avenue. It’s a large community, nearly one square mile, built around a golf course. It is gated with a security guard gate.

There are approximately 600 homes in the area. Homes range in size from 2,000 square feet to over 6,000 square feet. The average size is 3,600 square feet. Home values range from $300,000 to well over $1 million. The average price over the last year has been $512,000, $144/ft.

Amenities include a fitness center, aquatic center as well as the golf course. The aquatic center is a facility with water slides, 10,000 square feet of water surface, lap swimming and play and lounge areas. The fitness center is a 4,200 square ft. facility offering a wide variety of weight & cardio equipment, strength training options, fitness classes, and Personal Trainers. Soon the clubhouse will be complete. There’s a real community feel with lots of activities including a 4th of July parade and Trick or Treating at Halloween. Many of the residents have either an electric vehicle or golf cart to get to the pool or visit their neighbors.

Rose Creek is split north and south on schools. The north half is in Deer Creek Schools and the south half is in Edmond Schools.

Steady Job Market Places Oklahoma City on ‘Best Cities’ List


U.S. News and World Report lists Oklahoma City among the top 10 in its’ “America’s Best Places to Find a Job in 2009”!


The article states that no American city has been immune to the economic downturn, but several stood out as steady performers. Not necessarily marked by steep job growth in recent years, steadiness during the recession is key.

Cities that performed well were characterized by:

Fairview Farm Neighborhood entrance gate The Fairview Farm Neighborhood in Edmond is one of Oklahoma City’s premier gated communities of estate homes. Fairview Farm is located on the northwest corner of NW 150th & Western Ave. This makes for a great location: close to highways, Quail Springs Mall and shopping, the Memorial Road restaurant row and the Mercy Health Center.

Baptist Medical Center opened Easter Sunday , 1959. I would guess this photo is from the mid '60s. It opened as a 200 bed hospital and is now 508 beds.

At the time this opened, this was on the outskirts of the city!

In 1959 a 200 bed hospital opened on a 62 acre tract in northwest Oklahoma City.

“When I first came to Oklahoma, Baptist was just the place up on the hill with six floors,” said Betty Hudson, RN, retired after 30 years at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center.

“And at that time there wasn’t a lot of transportation out to this far area of the city,” said Sharon Williams, RN, retired after 43 years at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center. “So, I took a city bus and 50th street was as far as it came.”

Half a century later that “hospital on a hill” now stands as the cornerstone for a comprehensive medical campus that includes physician buildings, specialty institutes and a fitness center.

“The advancements in medical technology have just been fantastic,” said Williams.

“All the specialty areas that offer the very best; Baptist has always been a step ahead of the rest,” said Hudson.

“But I feel one thing that has stayed the same is the spirit of nursing and the pride that we take in serving our patients and our community,” added Williams.

"As INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center celebrates its 50th year serving the citizens of central Oklahoma its mission remains the same as day one, to improve the health of the people and communities we serve, and to do that through the delivery of outstanding clinical care and service excellence,” shared Chris Hammes, president, INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center.

To meet that goal, INTEGRIS has seen many expansions and advancements through the years. It’s now home to eight Centers of Excellence and has led the way with many Oklahoma firsts including participation in the nation’s first six-way, multi-hospital, domino kidney transplant.

“We hope to have many additional patient firsts here for the benefit of the community and the state as well,” added Hammes.

Today at 500 beds strong and growing, the facility remains more committed than ever to providing superior medical services.

“If the original administrator and chief of staff were alive today I think they would both definitely be very proud,” said Hammes.
